Plastic Grass
Wrap the rough edges,
And the texture of time,
In grass
The rolling hills of England,
It is a green and pleasant land
Plastic Grass is an exhibition in progress that I will be showing later in the year. It contains an imagined past; an absurd and fanciful dream inspired by speculative fiction and a brass quintet. I have been thinking about how a person could become captivated by the idea and eventually invite it into their home.

Big Cells, Small Cells
These analogue photographic prints have been created by using a smartphone screen in a darkroom. I have repeatedly passed the image through digital and analogue states enlarging the pixels and creating abstraction, demonstrating both the practical nature of the technology and the way it can be used to transfer information multiple times.
In this print there are obvious large cells but on closer inspection, there are many smaller cells within them.
Digital copies of this print and others is available on my Etsy.

These analogue photographic prints have been created by using a smartphone screen in a darkroom. I have repeatedly passed the image through digital and analogue states enlarging the pixels and creating abstraction, demonstrating both the practical nature of the technology and the way it can be used to transfer information multiple times.
When seen up close, pixel images appear fragmented or disjointed, abstract and meaningless. But when far away the eye creates something that makes sense as a whole, a trick of the mind experienced every day. The fabric in the image is apparent when far away from the work and the fabric of the image is apparent when close.

From the Ground to the Sky
These analogue photographic prints have been created by using a smartphone screen in a darkroom. I have repeatedly passed the image through digital and analogue states enlarging the pixels and creating abstraction, demonstrating both the practical nature of the technology and the way it can be used to transfer information multiple times.
This print has been processed three times. The blurred effect has come from a happy accident when I forgot to refocus the enlarger lens.
Digital copies of this print and others is available on my Etsy.
The name comes from the original digital image being of my post-mix concrete patio and the final image resembling trees overhead

Intermedia Solo Show, Gallery FRANK, March 2018
Canal - Track - Road
Using local industrial history as a measurement of time, Next Day Delivery explores themes of consumerism, logistics and memory. The building material of different stages in industrial development is viewed alongside the logistic pathways contemporary to it.
The speed of travel and the time it takes to make the materials increase with time.
Audience members were invited to interact with the work by rebuilding an old mill out of postage boxes.

Sound Installation
1 x 1.2 x 1m
Found materials, contact mics, pedals, mini amps
This was an installation built during an impromptu mini residency in collaboration with sound artist Joe Tatton. For the performance I got in to the structure and interacted with the materials which sent sound signals through pedals which were then amplified.
